When a former congressional aide becomes part of the staff of the governor of a small Southern state, he watches in horror, admiration, and amazement, as the governor mixes calculation and sincerity in his not-so-above-board campaign for the presidency.
Although, the author, Joe Klein, who originally wanted to remain anonymous, claims that this book is pure fiction, it is clear that he is describing the Clintons. It is one of the best books I have ever read and was also made into a movie directed by Mike Nichols starring John Travolta.
